About the Comic

Mega Man: Rock On is a fanmade webcomic created by artist Techno Kuno and writer Blayke Bowen. It focuses on the titular character's journey from anxious child to confident hero as he adjusts to his new role amidst the turmoil caused by the emergence of Dr. Wily and his attempts to cause havoc within his futuristic home of Neo City. As he struggles to balance both heroics and learning to be more human via his school life, Rock will find that his world is a lot more complex than he may have initially expected. The series takes inspiration from the Mega Man series (originally developed and published by Capcom), tokusatsu, and a variety of anime (with an emphasis on those which originated around the same time as the Mega Man series). It places heavy emphasis on both character drama and light-hearted action.

The comic was initially conceptualized in 2024 by Techno as a web animated series but, due to a lack of resources and a desire to hone his skills before attempting animation, it was decided to make the story into a comic instead. Blayke, being a writer who was fond of comics and who had encouraged the shift in mediums, ended up taking on the role of head writer for the project. Production began in earnest in mid-2025 and issues began releasing in 2026 on this website and on Techno's Twitter.
